Alan Woods (born 23 October 1944) is a British orthodox Marxist political theorist and author. He is one of the leading members of the Revolutionary Communist International as well as of its British section the Revolutionary Communist Party.
He is political editor of the RCI’s In Defence of Marxism website. Alan was a leading member within the Militant tendency and along with Ted Grant one of the editors for the Militant International Review until the early 1990s. After collapse of the Militant, he followed Ted Grant and along with him became one of the founding members of the International Marxist Tendency, which in 2024 was re-founded as the Revolutionary Communist International.
