(Pre-Order) IDOM 54: The Rojava Revolution

£4.00

The latest issue of the RCI’s theoretical magazine In Defence of Marxism will be released on 15 July.

With the coming to power of the Islamist HTS regime in Syria, and the disbanding of the Kurdish Workers’ Party soon after, the Rojava Revolution has come to an end. Now is therefore a good opportunity to revisit the events of the revolution, which for a time was held up as a flourishing example of anarchism in practice.

This issue also coincides with the 90 year anniversary of the workers’ uprisings in Spain, in response to Franco’s coup. At that point the anarchists could have taken power in Catalonia, which would have transformed the course of the civil war.

The editorial and the subsequent articles tie both at various events, as examples of anarchism in practice. It explains how the anarchists’ mistaken ideas in relation to the state, led to serious errors when confronted with the tasks of revolution. The need for workers’ power shines through both experiences.
